Terms of Service

Effective February 22, 2026

What FamilyAssistant Does

FamilyAssistant.io is an AI assistant that helps families manage daily logistics. You submit text, photos, documents, or voice memos, and we use AI to route them to the right place — your calendar, task list, notes, or reference library — through the services you connect.

These terms are a binding agreement between you and Family Assistant LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“we,” “us,” “our”). By using the service, you agree to these terms.

Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use FamilyAssistant
  • If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must create your account and consent to these terms on your behalf
  • By using the service, you represent that you meet these requirements

Your Account

You sign in through a third-party provider (Google, Apple, or Microsoft). You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, disconnect your account or contact us immediately.

Subscriptions & Billing

FamilyAssistant offers Free and Premium tiers. Usage is metered by submissions per month. Key billing terms:

  • Billing method — through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Stripe (web). Each platform's terms apply to transactions on that platform.
  • Auto-renewal — premium subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel
  • Cancellation — you can cancel anytime through your App Store subscription settings or your account settings on the web. You retain access through the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds — for Stripe purchases, we offer a 14-day refund window. For App Store purchases, Apple's refund policy applies.
  • Price changes — we will give at least 30 days' notice before any price increase for existing subscribers

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use FamilyAssistant to:

  • Submit or store illegal content, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
  • Send spam, bulk messages, or unsolicited content through the service
  • Abuse, harass, or threaten other users
  • Reverse engineer the service, its AI models, or its APIs
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits, security controls, or tenant isolation
  • Use the service for any purpose that violates applicable law

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.

AI Is Not Perfect

FamilyAssistant uses AI to read your submissions and suggest actions. AI is probabilistic, which means:

  • Text extraction (OCR, document parsing, transcription) may contain errors
  • Action plans (calendar events, tasks, etc.) may misinterpret your intent
  • Dates, times, and assignees may be parsed incorrectly

Always review proposed actions before approving them, especially for time-sensitive or important items. We provide a review queue specifically for this purpose. We are not responsible for errors caused by AI misinterpretation.

Third-Party Integrations

FamilyAssistant connects to services like Google Calendar, Microsoft 365, Todoist, and Notion to execute actions on your behalf. We do not control these services and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or data handling. If a connected service changes its API, goes down, or introduces errors, we will do our best to handle it gracefully but cannot guarantee uninterrupted functionality.

Your Content

You own your content. Anything you submit — text, files, voice memos, emails — remains yours. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and transmit your content solely to provide and improve the service. We will never use your content for advertising or sell it to third parties.

Termination

By you — you can delete your account at any time through Settings or by emailing us. We will remove your personal data within 30 days.

By us — we may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Where possible, we will give you notice and a chance to export your data.

Limitation of Liability

FamilyAssistant is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost data, missed appointments, or incorrect calendar entries.

Dispute Resolution

Try talking to us first. If you have a dispute, email legal@familyassistant.io and we will try to resolve it informally within 30 days.

Binding arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and we agree to resolve it through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration will take place in Texas or, at your election, by phone or video.

Class action waiver. You agree to resolve disputes with us on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in a class action or class arbitration.

Opt-out. You may opt out of arbitration by sending written notice to legal@familyassistant.io within 30 days of creating your account.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and display a notice in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
